Software giant, Microsoft made a milestone move by launching a Microsoft Customer Experience Centre, the first of its kind in Malaysia on 11 May. Spanning 464 sq. ft. of retail space at a mall renowned as the hang-out place for gadget and tech enthusiasts, the Centre reinforces Microsoft’s commitment to consumers and its retail partners at Low Yat Plaza. Opening a retail space smack in the gadget and tech haven further emphasized Microsoft Malaysia’s trust in the fast growing retail segment which possesses the potential to expand further. Among the functions played by the Microsoft Experience Centre would be to create stronger awareness amongst consumers on the value of genuine software as part of Microsoft’s continuous efforts in educating consumers on Microsoft’s latest technologies and the rewards of buying genuine – in line with the Government’s efforts to make Malaysia piracy-free.
The decision to open the Centre was also perfectly time, as research shows that total PC sales by Microsoft’s operating system (OS) platform, has been on a steady increase since Q1 2009. And opening the Centre at Low Yat Plaza was also a sensible choice since 55% of Malaysia’s total PC shipments of 1.6 million come from this location, according to research by GfK Retail and Technology Malaysia Sdn Bhd.
Apart from being a one-stop information centre for the general public to obtain any information pertaining to Microsoft’s products and updates, the Microsoft Customer Experience Centre is also a platform for Microsoft to support its retail partners in Low Yat Plaza in terms of end-user promotions and product enquiries.
The launch also kicked-off the ‘Microsoft Genuine Rewards End-User Contest’ which runs from May 1 to July 20, which gives visitors to Low Yat Plaza the chance to drive home a brand-new BMW 320i and bring back many other exciting prizes when they purchase genuine Microsoft software.
The Microsoft Customer Experience Centre is located on the 4th Floor of Low Yat Plaza.
