Canon announces the latest in digital SLR camera technology with the EOS-1D Mark IV, engineered for professionals who demand top-of-the-line performance. Sitting at the pinnacle of Canon’s esteemed line of professional cameras; the EOS-1D Mark IV sets a new standard with enhancements in every facet of the EOS experience.

Fast, Impressive Clarity with Cleaner Pixels
A newly developed 16.1 megapixel CMOS sensor (APS-H size) delivers unparalleled image quality, with superb detail and natural colour reproduction. The EOS-1D Mark IV houses a brand new and faster twin engine in the Dual “DIGIC 4” processors.

The twin processors flawlessly handle the enormous amount of digital information required when working at high shooting speeds, up to 10fps with bursts of 85 consecutive images (in JPEG Large). The EOS-1D Mark IV supports UDMA mode 6 which allows faster data transfers. Complimentary to this power is the widest ISO normal range in the EOS line, from 100-12,800, with extensions down to ISO 50 and up to an unbelievably light-sensitive ISO 102,400.

Razor Sharp Focus in an Instant
The EOS-1D Mark IV boasts Canon’s newest generation of auto focus technology, with several improvements over the Mark III. A new high-precision 45-point AF sensor has been developed for improved reliability, including 39 cross-type AF points that are executable even with an f/4 maximum aperture (with an array of lenses).

More customisable AF functions have also been added for increased control and customization of auto focus points. The Live View function now offers 3 AF modes including Live Mode (contrast detection), Face Detection and Quick Mode (phase difference detection).

Clarity and Ease for Better Compositions
The new LCD monitor is a major new development, with higher resolution, better colour reproduction, and drastically reduced light reflectance for improved visibility, even under a bright sun. With a 3.0-inch ClearView II LCD monitor with 920,000 dots, the EOS-1D Mark IV is highly adaptable to any shooting situation. The protective cover over the LCD screen is now a low-reflectance reinforced glass (instead of acrylic) for greater viewing pleasure.

Versatile DSLR with HD Video & Real Slow Motion
A new set of video options have been added to the EOS-1D Mark IV, bringing extreme versatility to this one-of-a-kind DSLR. Full High Definition video at a resolution of 1920×1080 can be captured at 24, 25 and 30 progressive frame rates.

An exciting new 60 fps allows for greater details in fast moving sequences like sports and other scenarios when temporal resolution is preferred even at a high definition resolution of 1280×720. Videos can be played back at full resolution on HD television sets with an HDMI accessory cable. For greater flexibility during use, still images can be captured during movie shooting.

More Things to Be Excited About
A new Auto ISO function gives the professional photographer a new dynamic program option, allowing the camera to select the ideal ISO for any given lighting and exposure combination. The Auto Lighting Optimizer (ALO) can be set to automatically adjust images during processing to obtain optimal brightness and contrast.

All images can have copyright information recorded automatically in the Exif information, such as the photographer’s name and the copyright holder’s name – extremely convenient for busy professionals.
